Job Description: We now have an exciting opportunity for a Trading Losses Specialist to join WHSmith’s largest worldwide business; Gatwick. The Trading Losses Specialist will report into our Head of Large Air and be responsible for the delivery of the operational and Trading Losses strategy across our Gatwick terminals and stores. Job Responsibilities: You will be accountable for the delivery of Trading Losses and operational targets by supporting and influencing the Store Management teams across Gatwick. With your expertise you will support the delivery of the trading losses strategy into regional plans and store operations to minimise risk and deliver efficiency and financial improvements to the shrink budget and store operations. You will conduct targeted store visits to assess operational performance and Trading Losses control measures. Using your experience and analytical mindset you will identify key themes/trends through data analysis to directly support and challenge the identified risk areas/risk stores. Working with our central head office trading losses team you will address non value adding policies and procedures by identifying areas for improvement, and regularly engage with Store Managers and field teams with key actions and areas for onwards communication. Using your engaging communication style you’ll manage the relationship with the Landlord, whilst also training, coaching and developing the necessary stakeholders (Store Managers, Regional Business Managers and others) to drive a culture of continuous improvement across trading losses and store operations at Gatwick. Job Requirements: You will have come from an operational background ideally from an FMCG sector, with previous exposure to a trading losses role within another large scale, high profile and fast paced retailer. Previous experience within Logistics / Stock Management will come in handy, as well as digital losses experience. Gatwick is extremely busy, and the operational pressure really hits during our summer peak. So you’ll need to be pragmatic, practical and efficient, confidently able to manage your time effectively, and be self driven to deliver results in order to succeed. You will have the skills to communicate direction and strategy to managers through effective storytelling, bringing to life the ‘why’ we deliver certain activities. You’ll also need to be impeccably organised and understand the balance between knowing the detail at store level and being able to adapt to work at a more strategic level. With your engaging and influential approach, you’ll inspire the stores to perform and achieve targets and build strong relationships across the business.
