Job Description: Within the Commercial Finance teams, everything depends on the overall trading environment and our competitors. It’s fast-paced and you never know what will happen next. We’re now recruiting for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our team reporting to the Trading Financial Controller. Job Responsibilities: Produce weekly reports for the trading teams including category sales analysis and margin Volume/Rate/Mix analysis Manage aged debt and support the trading teams to prevent bad debt Update the Cognos database with adjustments for Sales & Margin, Incomes & Costs Prepare Budget & Forecast packs for review meetings along with output reports for the trading teams Support the Trading Finance Controller with all planning cycles; Budget, Forecast 1, Forecast 2 and 3 year Plan Report the month end position to the TFC and the trading teams Produce ad hoc seasonal reports for key trading periods e.g. Back to School/Christmas Assist the trading teams to achieve the half year and year end cash targets Complete all month end reporting including processing journals, reconciling balances and interpreting variances Produce trial reports on a pre versus post versus control basis Job Requirements: We are looking for someone who is ideally a part qualified accountant with experience of forecasting and budgets. You should be proactive and analytical with advanced Excel skills who is reliable and thorough. Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines is a must; Finance is ever changing so being flexible and open to change is beneficial. You’ll need to be interpersonal with strong influencing and communication skills and strong attention to detail and organisation skills with ability to work independently.
