Job Description: This full-time, year-round position provides an assistant coach of baseball for the Department of Athletics. This position will provide support in the overall organization and management of the baseball program while reporting to the Head Baseball Coach. In accordance with the vision of the Department of Athletics, this position is responsible for all areas of the baseball program, including, coaching, practices and workouts, recruiting, scouting, scheduling, coordinating travel, planning and monitoring the baseball budget, monitoring player academics, maintaining solid roster numbers, organizing and managing year-round camps and clinics, monitoring RMAC and NCAA compliance, promoting baseball to the community, alumni and fans, and developing fund-raising opportunities for the program. Other duties may be assigned by the Head Baseball Coach and/or Director of Athletics. Job Responsibilities: Under the direction of the head coach, the assistant coaches student- athletes, including leading all team practices and scheduled games/competitions; develops game preparation and strategy; conditions and trains student-athletes in order to develop skill, character, and teamwork in baseball. Assists the head coach in the management of the baseball program by planning and coordinating all practices, workouts, and competitions; ensures all University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations are followed, including student-athlete eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, scheduling, and academic progress; manages the program’s operating budget through procurement requests and travel reimbursements; and supervises assistant coaches. Recruits highly qualified prospective student-athletes in coordination with the strategic vision of the head coach. Monitors player academics including student welfare and encouraging academic excellence. Helps organize and conduct team camps; aids in the development of fund- raising opportunities; serves on committees that promote the success of the program and athletics; establishes and maintains community contacts and enhances the success of the program. Other duties as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach and/or Director of Athletics.
