Job Description:

This position is located within the Bureau of Political Military Affairs (PM) which is the principal link between the Departments of State and Defense. The Bureau provides policy direction in the areas of international security, security assistance, military operations, post conflict stabilization, and defense trade and serves as as an expert on Man- Portable Air Defense Systems (MANPADS).

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages engagements with interagency partners including the intelligence and aviation community to promote U.S. objectives related to MANPADS policy and programs, including with threat briefs, programmatic support, and policy analysis.
• Drafts medium and long-term strategies to bring together the various elements of the MANPADS Task Force’s work, including special programs, multilateral engagements, MANPADS recognition training, and conventional weapons disposal.
• Oversee MANPADS reduction and security program implementation with strategic and technical direction and guidance, and monitor progress, including by conducting periodic field visits (when COVID-19 travel restrictions are lifted).
• Serves as a grants officer representative (GOR) as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
• One year probationary period, unless excepted by regulation.
