Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment. Follows safety regulations. Participate in process improvement activities. Meets performance schedules.
  • Evaluate condition of the manufacturing facility and warehouse space to ensure compliance to regulatory and HACCP requirements. Audit programs in support of quality objectives.
  • Demonstrate and understand safety as a core value and follows the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; reinforces and coaches others to do the same.
  • Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures. Monitors and documents quality measures using analytical tools.
  • Support food safety, legality and quality programs.
  • Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values.
  • Evaluate and document quality of finished goods and raw materials. Report quality conditions as needed.
  • Understand and follow established safety guidelines, consistently complies with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out).
  • Participate in the maintenance and development of plant quality programs in support of HACCP. Provide training and education of quality-based programs to manufacturing partners.
  • Maintain product quality through adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety Preventive Controls, product specifications and quality procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Scientific method and report writing (1 year)
  • Gathering, recording and reporting on operational and quality metrics, through manual or automated systems (1 year)
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Regulated food manufacturing environment with familiarity of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards (1 year)
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Operation of manual and automated analytical equipment (1 year)
  • Mechanical/Technical Aptitude to troubleshoot minor equipment failures and make minor adjustments
  • High school diploma/GED, US military service or equivalent
  • Analytical skills

Qualification & Experience:

  • Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with the GFSI certification schemes (i.e. BRC and/or or SQF).
  • 4 year degree
