Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Guarding and controlling the movement of protectee’s, visitors, and employees; maintaining the activity within protected facilities; applying proper arrest procedures; utilizing use of force training techniques in order to apprehend and detain suspicious persons or suspects; applying proper use of fire and emergency equipment (first aid kit, fire extinguisher, fire alarm, emergency medical training, etc.,) to respond to life threatening situations or the evacuation of personnel; driving in protective motorcades; serving as part of an emergency response team; instituting security name checks and performing independent investigative functions.
  • Instructing personnel in security policies and procedures in order to provide guidance; communicating with high level officials, law enforcement agencies and the general public for the purpose of relaying facts or giving directions in a crisis; and writing daily control center activity reports in order to provide operations with necessary data to complete follow up investigations and to record shift activities.
  • Making extensive adjustments to work priorities and schedules; accommodating sudden major changes, problems or setbacks; and monitoring and operating communications equipment and security devices to respond to emergency situations.

  • Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
  • Submit to a polygraph examination prior to your appointment if required.
  • Undergo occasional travel.
  • Possess a valid U.S. state motor vehicle operator’s license and maintain a valid license while you occupy the position.
  • Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory. You will be ineligible to occupy this position if at any time you have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, unless you received a pardon or your conviction was expunged or set aside.
  • Complete a pre-employment medical examination (including vision, hearing, cardiovascular and mobility of extremities) by an authorized
  • Government physician and be determined physically fit to perform strenuous and physically demanding duties. You will be required to undergo regular physical examinations and to maintain a level of physical fitness in accordance with the standards and policies of this agency.
  • Successfully complete a 10 week Mixed Basic training course or submission of a waiver request to waive the training requirement.
  • Work requires extensive physical activity (walking, standing, bending, climbing, lifting and carrying heavy objects), and requires defending oneself and/or others against physical attack(s).
  • Work involves high risk of exposure to potentially dangerous situations and hazards.
