Job Description:

As a member of a team, charged with the operations and maintenance of the coal handling system. Operates and maintains heavy motorized equipment and industrial equipment [i.e. forklift]. Responsible for compliance with all local, state and federal transportation regulations and guidelines pertaining to operating heavy equipment. Operates and maintains all equipment associated with fuel supply, and combustible dust. Installs, repairs, inspects, overhauls, troubleshoots, and performs maintenance to coal handling equipment and systems. Maintenance tasks include but are not limited to: pipefitting, and welding. Performs mechanical duties with pumps, electric motors, air compressors, valves, welding, fabrication, construction, pipefittings, etc. Monitors and operates the coal handling equipment from the dumper to the tripper. Observes operating parameters of equipment and assures that optimum operating conditions are maintained.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, clean, lubricate, service and make minor adjustments and repairs to equipment as necessary.
  • Complete OGE Plant Fuel Supply Operator combuter based training and attain profiency in all Fuel Supply systems.
  • Complete training relating to the hazards, mitigation, and clean up of Combustible Dust.
  • Repair, inspect and maintain coal handling equipment and auxiliaries including equipment alignment.
  • Proficient use of power and hand tools,various industrial equipment as needed and performance of general craft tasks.
  • Reads and interprets drawings and prints.
  • Works with other craft and plant personnel as required.
  • Utilizes SAP/PM system for equipment history and verification of work performed.
  • Continually seeks process improvement to save cost and increase efficiency.
  • Operates heavy motorized equipment (e.g., cranes, backhoes, bulldozers, scrapers, conveying systems, trucks and other similar equipment).
  • Monitor, operate and check equipment to ensure normal equipment operations.

  • Ability to understand and comply with company policies and operating procedures.
  • Ability to understand plant equipment, systems and/or processes.
  • Ability to use common purpose hand tools and other materials of various craft trades.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, following approved work methods and standard testing practices.
  • Basic Computer skills with knowledge of Outlook email and ability to learn work management systems (i.e.
  • SAP/PM).

Qualification & Experience:

  • Associate degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology, or Applied Science with emphasis on Industrial Electrical or Electronics Technology, or Two year certificate in Industrial Electrical/Electronics combined with three (3) years industrial protection and controls experience.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.
  • DOT Medical Card certification required within 90 days.
  • Required to maintain permanent residence within a 45 minute driving time to assigned service center.
