Job Description: Maintain the calibration of all precision measurement equipment, hand tools, electrical equipment, primary standards and inspection apparatus in accordance with standards established by the Quality Department. Coordinate calibration, distribution and recall of all gauging, electrical and inspection equipment to and from inspection and manufacturing personnel. Have a general understanding of automotive and aerospace calibration requirements and appropriate implementation. Job Responsibilities: Maintain the detailed record necessary to document and substantiate the performance and results of calibration activities. Update and write calibration procedures. Contacting equipment suppliers to obtain quotes for new mechanical and electrical equipment. Coordinate outside sources for calibration. Generate purchase orders for new or replacement electrical or mechanical equipment and/or gauging. Instruct inspection and manufacturing personnel on proper use and care of inspection gages and equipment. Generate reports from QDA database to manage calibration schedules, and ensure that gages, inspection equipment, and electrical equipment due for calibration are completed on time. Set up inspection gages and equipment such as Johnson Thread gages, snap gages, bore micrometers, Sunnen gages and others. Assist in selection of available gauge and R&R studies. Performs special duties when assigned by manager. Practice good housekeeping Follow safety rules Support the Company Quality Policy Job Requirements: Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Windows-Office and EXCEL applications. Experienced in maintaining calibration database (knowledge of QDA is preferred). Experienced using ERP systems to look up data and write purchase orders. Blue Print reading and interpretation of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) Proficiency with hands on use of Inspection tools and gauges. Electrical equipment could include digital multi-meters, pressure transducers, pressure gages, flow-meters, hypots, etc. Obtain quotations and write PO requisitions for calibration and repairs. Coordinate and manage daily workloads without direction from manager.
