Job Description:

The National Security Agency (NSA) Science of Security (SoS) Summer Internship Program offers paid research internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate-level university students pursuing STEM degrees. The 12-week program starting mid-May/June offers interns the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with full-time NSA researchers on innovative cybersecurity research and technology. NSA/CSS Research Directorate (RES) is home to a highly technical and talented workforce that performs cutting-edge research and creates breakthroughs in mathematics, computer science, engineering, cybersecurity, physics, neuroscience, and linguistics that lead to creative solutions to NSA’s most challenging problems.

Job Responsibilities:

The National Security Agency (NSA) Science of Security (SoS) Summer Internship Program offers paid research internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate-level university students pursuing STEM degrees. The 12-week program starting mid-May/June offers interns the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with full-time NSA researchers on innovative cybersecurity research and technology. NSA/CSS Research Directorate (RES) is home to a highly technical and talented workforce that performs cutting-edge research and creates breakthroughs in mathematics, computer science, engineering, cybersecurity, physics, neuroscience, and linguistics that lead to creative solutions to NSA’s most challenging problems. At the end of the intern’s tour, they will provide a presentation of their work to their fellow interns and researchers. The NSA facilities are located in and around Fort Meade, Maryland.

Job Requirements:

‘ Must be a U.S. citizen. ‘ Must be eligible to be granted a security clearance. ‘ Must be available for an operational interview and other applicable processing between the months of November 2021 and March 2025. ‘ Applicants should have demonstrated superior STEM aptitude and problem-solving skills. Evidence of successful work on an independent STEM project is desirable. Applicants may be at any stage in their undergraduate or graduate careers and working, or intending to work, in any STEM area. ‘ Desired majors include, but not restricted to, computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, information technology, mathematics, and psychology.
