Job Description:

This position is located in the National Weather Service (NWS), Eastern Region Headquarters (ERHQ), Hydrologic Services Division, with one vacancy located in Bohemia, NY.

Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as Program Manager for one or more of the assigned Hydrology Services programs and projects, providing oversight requiring development and execution of complex scientific programs to include research, operations, and related projects.
• Lead efforts to identify hydrology-related program objectives, coordinate efforts to develop and implement those objectives, and transfer those innovations from a research to an operational environment.
• Plan the operational directives of one or more of the Hydrology Services programs, and plan related project budgets aligned with the Division’s priorities.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Hydrology Sciences, advising subordinate programs, internal and external program/project scientists, as well as officials of both Federal and State-run operations.
