Job Description:
ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION: IT Operations Engineers coordinate the integration, deployment, sustainment, maintenance, and operations of systems and/or services in the host enterprise architecture and NGA. They provide IT support for GEOINT operations and are accountable for the overall success of integration projects, ensuring alignment with Agency priorities and business strategies (e.g., strategic plans, life-cycle management plans, investment plans). They oversee and monitor the documentation, validation, accreditation, and authorization processes necessary to ensure that new information technology systems meet information assurance and security requirements prescribed by NGA and/or mission partners.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in Intermediate to Advanced level TCP/IP based Local Area Network Configuration and Administration.
- DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 Security certification such as Security+ CE or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and identifying potential opportunities for IT process improvement and followed through with the implementation of those improvements.
- Demonstrated experience with Intermediate to Advanced level Windows and Linux System Administration.
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience with satellite communications and host and network-based security solutions.
- Experience with data manipulation and visualization with Python and or Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to research technical solutions to generalized IT requirements for both desktop and service based requirements.
- Knowledge of current standards and trends in desktop and server hardware to include network attached storage.
- Experience scripting of system administration tasks using Power shell/BASH or similar.
