Job Description:

Provide group underwriting services for new business and renewals of life, dental, vision, disability and voluntary benefits products. Work closely with the sales team across all states and other internal partners to position Metlife in the best way to succeed. This includes ensuring that profitability goals are met and customer satisfaction is maximized.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Updates databases with quote, sales and renewal information to track results
  • Meets specific metrics and guidelines for completion of renewal work and new business quotes
  • Prices and offers plan changes; produces experience reports, and responds to broker and customer inquiries
  • Underwrites renewals by reviewing current plan’s premium history, claims history, and overall financial performance to determine the appropriate renewal action
  • Underwrites new business quotes by analyzing financial data and plan design information to determine whether to accept risk and at what premium level
  • Analyses risk by performing manual rate calculations and / or preparing experience rated analysis
  • Assist in the implementation process for sold cases by verifying quoted plan design information
  • Works with sales team to ensure that new business quotes and renewals are rated appropriately
  • Delivers excellent customer experience through daily interactions with customers

Qualification & Experience:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Excellent creative problem solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Bacherlor’s degree or equivalent business experience
  • 2+ Years Group Insurance industry experience or Group Underwriting experience
