Job Description: As the Research Impact Librarian, you will deliver outstanding service and collaborate across library project teams as well as directly with Laboratory scientists and engineers on research impact, citation analysis and practices, documentation for promotion and award packages, and reporting on individual or group-level metrics of research impact. You will provide key public services of consultations and instruction, while collaborating with researchers developing successful publishing and dissemination strategies, developing researcher/professional profiles, managing or tracking publications, and measuring or assessing research impact through a variety of impact metrics. Job Responsibilities: As the Research Impact Librarian, you will provide guidance to the LANL community in the form of in person and virtual individual consultations, group instruction, and print and video resources. You will serve as a subject liaison and provide general research assistance. In addition, you will be directing the future of research impact services - serving as chair of the Research Library Metrics Team, developing policies, streamlining processes, assessing services, and honing outreach strategies. You will form strong, productive relationships with stakeholders across the research landscape, both internal and external to LANL, in order to accomplish strategic and operational objectives. Job Requirements: Knowledge of research impact metrics, documentation, and analysis methodologies and software Awareness of trends related to publishing and research metrics, such as federal funding policies. Knowledge of and experience with bibliographic and citation databases Ability to lead and manage teams and services, ensuring quality of service interactions. Demonstrated experience providing reference and research services, instruction, and outreach, in person and virtually. Qualification & Experience: Experience providing consultation to a range of audiences, such as scientists, computer engineers, and information technologists. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team with researchers, staff and a growing culturally diverse laboratory community.
