Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Special Agent (SA) for interagency, multi-jurisdictional, international, or inter-organizational inquiries and investigations.
- Conduct investigations of marked difficulty and responsibility associated with trade, travel, finance, and immigration for combatting illicit activities associated with individuals, businesses, employers, criminal organizations or criminal conspiracies, and cyber systems and networks.
- Utilize intelligence, investigative techniques, and legal authorities to conduct investigations.
- Apply knowledge of the trends, laws and investigative case development independently or with other agencies to attain results. Prepare written documentation utilizing expert knowledge in support of investigations.
- Conduct complex investigations of transnational criminal networks and/or experience investigating sophisticated money laundering activities.
Job Requirements:
- You may be required to complete fitness testing before you enter on duty
- You may be required to complete a polygraph exam.
- Incumbent is required to maintain the ability to perform the rigorous physical requirements of the job
- You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
- You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- You must successfully pass a drug screen.
- Males born after 12/31/59 must certify registration with Selective Service.

- Time in Grade: Time in grade restrictions must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of service equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position to be filled
- Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess a valid automobile driver’s license at the time of appointment.
- Training: Incumbent must attend and successfully complete Criminal Investigator Training Program and HSI Special Agent Training or other approved substantially equivalent training program (per 8 CFR 287. l (g).
- This position may require the incumbent to be reassigned to a different geographic location.
- The incumbent will be required to sign a mobility agreement, which will remain in effect through the duration of the assignment.
