GM is transforming the way they will compete in the rapidly changing transportation market by applying the principles and practices described in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Global Electronic Components and Subsystems (GECS) are seeking energetic, innovative individuals to join our team of change agents, SAFe Program Consultants (SPCs), to help transform the way we develop our customer products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Become an active member of the GECS Lean-Agile Center of Excellence (LACE) working on features and stories defined to successfully transform GECS to SAFe in accordance to the SAFe Implementation Roadmap.
  • Teach, Coach, Mentor while modeling to others the principles and practices of SAFe.
  • Demonstrate how to Measure and Grow from retrospective reflection following a development cycle.
  • Actively listen to engineers and leaders during training courses, workshops, and consultations to understand their challenges and offer suggestions to help them understand how to improve GM’s Business Agility.
  • Prepare teams and “teams of teams” made up of engineers, leaders, and business stakeholders to put into practice their newly acquired skills as they launch Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
  • Communicate and promote the organization’s vision to adopt Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Identify opportunities and suggest innovative ways to automate portions of our delivery pipeline increasing productivity and quality while shortening time to market.
  • Study, learn, and become certified to teach SAFe courses to others at GM.

Job Requirements:

  • Proficient at analyzing unusual and complex issues while driving for results in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for leading, actively listening, coaching, consulting, and resolving conflicts with people.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Five or more years of Automotive Engineering experience with demonstrated technical and professional skills in Systems Engineering and/or Embedded Controls Development.
  • Three or more years of Automotive Engineering experience with demonstrated technical and professional skills in Systems Engineering and/or Embedded Controls Development.
  • Strong project management skills to lead, plan, prioritize, and execute work in efficient and effective ways to meet or exceed objectives on time with quality.
  • Bold, passionate, proactive innovator who has or is willing to participate with others leading GECS through the transformation to SAFe.
  • Highly developed and demonstrated communication skills, oral and written, to collaborate effectively across the organization including leaders, engineering staffs, and co-workers.
