Job Description: As a Manufacturing Engineering Global Propulsion Systems Co-Op, you will participate in the GM EXCEL (Exploring Careers through Experiential Learning) Program. Responsibilities include successfully completing all deliverables for your specific project(s), including: completing any/all Corporate Required/Site Specific/Department Specific and any Elective TRAINING; gathering and analysis of data/information; development of findings and recommendations; presentation(s) of findings and recommendations to Team and to Leadership. Job Responsibilities: Prepare and deliver reports on work progress and/or recommendations Regular contact with others outside the assigned work group, and/or outside of GM, as required Develop Tooling, Tool Change and/or associated manufacturing processes Analyze and make/purchase components for the best method of manufacture / assembly / test. Provide technical support to Operations, Maintenance, &/or Engineering personnel for specific plant machinery & equipment, including specifications, purchase, runoff, installation, debug, PPAP (Pre-Production Approval Process) , and ramp-up activities Troubleshoot, Investigate problems and recommend/analyze possible solutions Gather, analyze and report on data Direct the design, development, analysis, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for an assigned area or program Propose and/or evaluate manufacturing processes and/or plant layouts for machinery and equipment in assigned area and/or product program Job Requirements: Consistently demonstrates innovative thinking and problem-solving skills that is customer-centric Able to work independently and with a team Emerging partnership and collaboration skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed Oral and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trust Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors.
