Job Description:
As a Manufacturing Engineering Global Propulsion Systems Co-Op, you will participate in the GM EXCEL (Exploring Careers through Experiential Learning) Program. Responsibilities include successfully completing all deliverables for your specific project(s), including: completing any/all Corporate Required/Site Specific/Department Specific and any Elective TRAINING; gathering and analysis of data/information; development of findings and recommendations; presentation(s) of findings and recommendations to Team and to Leadership.
Job Responsibilities:
- Regular contact with others outside the assigned work group, and/or outside of GM, as required
- Propose and/or evaluate manufacturing processes and/or plant layouts for machinery and equipment in assigned area and/or product program
- Prepare and deliver reports on work progress and/or recommendations
- Develop Tooling, Tool Change and/or associated manufacturing processes
- Direct the design, development, analysis, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for an assigned area or program
- Analyze and make/purchase components for the best method of manufacture / assembly / test.
- Gather, analyze and report on data
- Provide technical support to Operations, Maintenance, &/or Engineering personnel for specific plant machinery & equipment, including specifications, purchase, runoff, installation, debug, PPAP (Pre-Production Approval Process) , and ramp-up activities
- Troubleshoot, Investigate problems and recommend/analyze possible solutions
