Job Description: Lead chassis structure, suspension, and steering analysis activities in support of vehicle program and technology development work. Perform structural analysis of automotive suspension and chassis structure components/systems for advanced vehicle development or post-sourcing vehicle programs to assess the following characteristics: Strength, Stiffness (Static and Dynamic), Durability, Noise and Vibration Performance, and drive design solutions. Support component and sub-system test development and issue root cause and resolution. Perform fatigue analysis and block cycle test creation for chassis structure and suspension components. Job Responsibilities: Present results and generate impactful recommendations, based on analysis, as requested and in support of virtual review process Document and archive analysis results and models Lead development of new CAE techniques Lead all aspects of coordinated supplier CAE activities Keep up to date with the latest CAE tools/trends Participate in Vehicle Dynamics and Noise & Vibration Performance Integration Teams Actively participate in Chassis Structure, Suspension, & Steering Product Development Teams Participate in Statement of Requirements (SOR) process Develop, supervise, and update CAE portion of Analysis, Development, and Validation plan Interact with design engineers on a regular basis in developing new components and systems Qualification & Experience: Experience with a CAE modeling tools; Hyper Works &/or ANSA preferred Familiarity with CAE analysis codes; NASTRAN, Opti Struct, Abaqus, Adams preferred High level of oral and written communication skills Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms Experience with component and sub-system test development and execution including real-time and block cycle testing Specific knowledge of engineering subject area (e.g. mechanics, physics, metallurgy, manufacturing methods, electronics, software, control systems) within job-related area Experience with CAE and CAD 3+ years of engineering experience Exhibit appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals Proficiency with MS Office applications Job Details: Company: General Motors Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Milford, MI, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here Careersvilla.com
