Job Description:

The GMCH Rochester Execution Team is responsible for development and flawless launch of new manufacturing systems for new and existing products at our Rochester NY facility . We are seeking a Mechanical Execution Engineer to support future product launches and improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage vendors to achieve lead time, investment, cycle time, and quality targets prior to machine delivery
  • Work with Product Engineering to develop new processes as needed for prototype manufacture
  • Lead machine run-off activities at manufacturing site, working with vendor to correct all noted deficiencies
  • Collaboration with the Operations Launch Team on Program Deliverables
  • Ensure availability of all machine drawings and spare parts prior to start of production
  • Develop equipment specifications and assess vendor proposals
  • Coordinate and supervise machine installation as required in conjunction with plant engineering and contractors.
  • Participate in safety g-Risk activities with cross functional groups . Responsible for execution of mechanical aspects of safety systems to meet all applicable standards.
  • Support & actively interact with manufacturing operations group once equipment is installed. Provide support for Maintenance of equipment as needed.
  • Participate in PFMEA reviews and implement required error-proofing features in conjunction with Controls Execution Engineer

Qualification & Experience:

  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing / Print reading
  • Experience in troubleshooting equipment
  • SolidWorks experience
  • Familiarity with mechanical components, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, machine controls.
  • Experience with FANUC robot applications
  • Work Experience in one or more specific technical areas
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex projects with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results.
  • 3+ years of Manufacturing / Industrial Experience
