Job Description:

General Motors is looking for Human Resources (HR) and Labor Relations (LR) professionals who are excited to help lead in the HR space. As a Regional Personnel Director, you will be directly responsible for delivery of HR and LR services at our Hudson, Wisconsin Customer Care & Aftersales (CCA) Parts Distribution Center. In addition, you will function as a People Leader to the Personnel Directors located at our Chicago, Illinois and Denver, Colorado CCA Parts Distribution Centers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite HR/LR service delivery at designated home location
  • Champion projects that support key HR/LR objectives across your region
  • Manage hourly, contract and salaried employment administration
  • Negotiate and implement local and national agreements
  • Provide guidance on day-to-day issues to Personnel Directors in your region
  • Promote a positive working relationship with the union through consistent application of local and national agreements
  • Lead selection, hiring, development, performance management and compensation planning for Personnel Directors in your region
  • Provide HR leadership for the site (i.e. talent planning, performance management, compensation planning, recruiting and selection, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance to policy and support investigations of employee concerns
  • Partner with the Plant Manager in driving GM culture, promoting positive employee experiences and improving employee engagement

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience working in a union environment, negotiating, and resolving conflicts
  • Experience in Warehouse, Manufacturing, Operation or Distribution
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding HR/LR matters
  • 5 years of experience providing HR and LR support to an organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, LR, business or a related field
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HR applications (e.g. Workday, etc.)
  • Organized, able to work independently, meet deadlines and thrive in an ambiguous environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Highly proficient analytical and project management skills
