Job Description:
As the Maintenance Group Leader, you are responsible for operations, maintenance and repair of plant equipment. You may oversee a medium size group of employees in a skilled area of work. Work requires the ability to make decisions based on established procedure. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Use of independent judgement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group
- Meets schedule and quality requirements
- Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements
- Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions
- You will conduct appropriate checks and tests, and communicate evaluation of results
- Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment
- Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project. Has knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles
- Recommends solutions to problems
- Implements divisional and corporate policies and safety and good housekeeping practices
Job Requirements:
- Time and Attendance
- Previous plant floor experience in either a supervisory or engineering role
- Labour Relations Training
- Practical and technical problem solving skills
- Layered Audit process
- Chemical Management training
- All Required Safety Training under GWSS
- Plant Monitoring and Control training
- All required Global Manufacturing System (GMS) Training
- Experience in a unionized environment
