Job Description:
As a data scientist, you will be responsible for developing data insights to drive business decision or action via statistics, natural language processing, AI/ML modeling. You will work with data customers directly within GM or external on any data request.
Job Responsibilities:
- Status updates to leadership on key data insights at program milestones, including reviews and demos;
- Monitor and maintain AI/ML model effectiveness
- Conduct Design Thinking/ Ideation/ Innovation sessions with the stakeholders throughout the product cycle & anticipate customers’ needs;
- Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
- Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms;
- Present complex information using data visualization techniques
- Combine models through ensemble modeling
- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges that drive business impact
- Research/benchmark AI/ML technology to support data product/service roadmap;
Job Requirements:
- ML toolkits: Pandas, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Keras, SK-Learn
- Data Visualizations (PowerBI and/or Kibana)
- 7+ years of experience in data science capacity;
- Experience in software defined services including software release workflow, over the air data collection pipeline & database design;
- 3+ yrs industry experience in developing, deploying, and monitoring performance of data pipelines, data analysis, and BI reporting;
- Databases (Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, Cassandra, Elastic, and/or S3)
- Experience utilizing:
- Proficient in one or more analytical methodologies such as feature engineering, numerical optimization, real time & time-series modeling, forecasting, image modeling, machine learning/deep learning and natural language processing
- Scripting languages (Python, PySpark and SQL)
- Proven technical ability to navigate highly complex data management projects and effectively collaborate with multiple parties;
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience with automotive related data (e.g. warranty and diagnostics)
- Experience with vehicle data acquisition tools (e.g. Vehicle Spy, CANalyzer)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or Engineering
- Experience with Big Data using Spark/Scala/Hadoop/Hive
- Advance degree (Master or PhD) in AI/ML preferred
- Experience with data collection over the air
- Understanding of major automotive vehicle systems such as Advanced Driver-Assistance (ADAS), Motion Control, Automotive Network, and Powertrain
- Experience with database design
- Experience with web-based APP development
- Experience with website, SharePoint and/or GUI development
