Job Description:
As a Senior CATM Advanced Technology Specialist, you will contribute to the development of new innovative chassis systems for GM’s future mobility solutions. You will be part of a multi-functional team, working with global partners, suppliers, and academia to leverage invention/ideation to develop proof of concept solutions for future GM products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop project scope, work, timelines, and budget
- Stay abreast of new technology and competitive products in chassis systems
- Develop new and innovative concepts. Use internal expertise (global partners), and external knowledge (global supply base and academia)
- Complete proof of concept evaluations and validation
- Develop, in conjunction with represented GSSLT(s), subsystem technology development roadmaps to align advanced technology work with the critical initiatives
- Develop technical specifications and conduct supplier technical reviews to support the supplier selection process
- Lead a multi-functional team through various technology development processes to achieve project landmarks
- Collect project key technological findings and update Best Practices, Technical Specifications and Bill of Materials
- Lead and support chassis systems advanced technology projects that develop novel components, systems and customer centric features
Job Requirements:
- Automotive suspension systems, brake systems, air induction systems, exhaust systems, or steering systems
- Proven self-starter who can work independently and deal with ambiguity
- Mechatronic control systems development including using MATLAB/Simulink, and CarSim software packages
- In-depth engineering design knowledge in one or more of:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Experience in the following areas:
- Unigraphics design in solids creation and structural FEA analysis
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong analytical ability
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Qualification & Experience:
- Chassis systems knowledge for autonomous
- Agile Methodology experience
- Design release engineering experience
- DFSS Black Belt or Red X Master
- Advanced Engineering degree(s) (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Systems Engineering)
