Job Responsibilities: Effectively communicate new initiatives, standards, regulations, significant incidents and management directives to internal and external stakeholders Take immediate and appropriate action when an "imminent risk of serious injury" has been identified Consult and advise in technical and non-technical safety topics, including local and national safety regulations Coordinate implementation and continuous improvement in company safety programs Facilitate plant's Safety Process Review Board Meetings Directly responsible for corporate and internal safety reporting Provide oversight for health and safety training and orientation, and ensure all safety trainers are qualified in the subject in which they are training Conduct appropriate audits and assessments as required Conduct Risk evaluations for the plant Serve as the plant's Emergency Response Coordinator, responsible for plant’s emergency response plan, annual drills, and Emergency Response Team meetings and training Lead and/or participate in incident investigations as required Qualification & Experience: 3+ years of safety experience in the field of occupational safety in a manufacturing environment 1+ years of experience in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook MS Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Safety or related. Experience working with the UAW. Demonstrate effective interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and organization skills ASP / CSP certification preferred.
