Job Description:
The Architecture and Software Platform group is responsible for the software platform that enables connectivity and advanced application features within next generation Ford vehicles. The team is designing and building the next generation software platform for the FNV4 vehicle electrical architecture structured around high performance compute clusters and zonal aggregators.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that teams’ product deliveries meet business objectives.
- Managing the performance, productivity, motivation and collaboration of a team of software developers performing design, development and testing of software components.
- Day-to-day prioritization of tasks.
- Ensuring that the team is adequately staffed to meet company performance objectives.
- Providing leadership in the areas of technology decisions, architecture, team processes, effective prioritization and maintenance of team velocity.
Qualification & Experience:
- A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- An excellent communicator with a proven record of communication across teams.
- Experience with decomposition, planning and delivery of large software features.
- 3+ years of providing technical or personnel leadership in software development teams.
- Experience with distributed computing environments and Service Oriented architectures.
- 7+ years of software development in C++ with at least 3 years on POSIX compliant embedded platforms.
- Methodical; capable of prioritizing work, overcoming hurdles and working to tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge of established software design patterns, efficient data structures, multi-threaded system design, inter-process communication, memory management and code optimization.
- Creative and analytical thinker.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required)
