Job Description:

The Region 6 Wildlife South Program is looking for a highly motivated Environmental Scientist to work with a dedicated team of wildlife professionals to conduct demographic studies  on mule deer populations, primarily in the mountains of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Duties will include coordinating with Unit Biologist and Scientific Aids on capture of adult and neonatal mule deer, data managemnet, monitoring by satellite and ground-based  telemetry, investigation of mortalites, and collecting samples from carcasses of road-killed and hunter harvested deer in addition to sampling of vegetation and fecal pellets. Under the close supervision of the Region 6 Wildlife South Supervisor, the Environmental Scientist is responsible for serving as the Wildlife South Region’s lead scientist to implement surveys of mule deer demography, vital rates, and resource selection.

Job Requirements:
