Job Description: The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, or FERC, is an independent agency that regulates the interstate transmission of natural gas, oil, and electricity. FERC also regulates natural gas and hydropower projects. As part of our goal, we are seeking highly skilled individuals to assist in carrying out the mission of this agency. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission assists consumers in obtaining reliable, efficient and sustainable energy services at a reasonable cost through appropriate regulatory and market means. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Division of Investigations, within the Office of Enforcement, is responsible for the enforcement of the Commission’s statutes, orders, and rules governing the nation’s wholesale natural gas and electric markets, including the Commission’s Anti-Manipulation Rule, to ensure fair and competitive markets. We are seeking mid-level and senior-level attorneys to help us accomplish this mission. Qualified applicants must have either, or both, significant experience in energy law and the energy industry or significant investigative and litigation experience. Senior attorneys must have substantial energy law experience and/or substantial litigation experience (either white collar crime or complex business litigation) and first-chair trial experience or multiple second-chair trial experience. Mid-level attorneys must have significant energy law experience and/or significant hands-on investigation and litigation experience.
