Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:
- Utilizing precedent decisions in the analysis of problem cases, drawing sound conclusions, and assisting in the preparation of orders, recommendations and other legal documents;
- Processing of cases, which in most instances, involve the public interest;
- Performing legal research to supplement attorneys in cases involving difficult and complicated facts relating to any matters arising under the provisions of the Federal Power Act; Natural Gas Act; Natural Gas Policy Act; Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act; Interstate Commerce Act, Administrative Procedures Act and other Federal statutes;
- Consulting with attorneys and other appropriate staff members on administrative and technical matters relative to assignments and obtain advice and instruction;
- Conducting research for the purpose of giving legal advice and assistance (both oral and written) on questions of law and fact or issues which are clearly covered by well-established precedents or prior Commission and court decisions;
- Performing other comparable legal duties as assigned pending admission to state/DC bar association.
Job Requirements:
- Graduated with academic honors
- High Academic Achievement (graduated in the top 25% of class and a GPA of 3.5 or higher)
- Demonstrated interest in substantive areas of FERC’s authority
- Law journal or other relevant writing experience
- Moot court competition, legal aid, or legal clinic experience
- Judicial Law Clerk experience
