Job Description:

Performs a variety of functions to support the Minutes Section’s mission to accurately and completely describe Board and System actions in the confidential and public records produced by the section. These records include Board meeting minutes, the weekly “Actions of the Board, Its Staff, and the Reserve Banks,” and the Record of Board Policy Actions for the Annual Report. Performs special editing and writing assignments, including editing records of Board advisory council meetings and preparing summaries of various meetings between the Board and outside groups. Depending on grade, performs assigned duties with an increasing degree of independence and a decreasing level of supervision. May oversee and review the work of a junior staff member and/or serve as section leader in the manager’s absence.

Job Requirements:

  • At the FR 25 grade – Typically requires completion of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in liberal arts or journalism, or the equivalent experience acquired through a combination of work-related experience and training. At least four years of specialized experience, preferably writing experience in Board- and System-related issues, with an increasing level of responsibility are also required. Requires strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Requires knowledge of Board operations and familiarity with common issues considered by the Board in the areas of economic, regulatory, supervisory, and monetary policies. Writing skills must be versatile and meet the expectations of a varied audience that includes Board members, System employees, and interested members of the public. Performance skills include organized work habits, attention to detail, timeliness, and strong writing, proofreading, and editing abilities. Must have hands-on experience using electronic databases.
  • At the FR 26 grade – Typically requires completion of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in liberal arts or journalism, or the equivalent experience acquired through a combination of work-related experience and training. At least five years of specialized experience, preferably writing experience in Board- and System-related issues, with an increasing level of responsibility are also required. Requires strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills.
