DMV Hiring – Assistant Division Chief/Program Manager

Job Description:

This job posting is for a departmental promotional examination administered through the Special Examination and Appointment (SEA) Program which uses an alternative examination and selection process for filling specified positions. In addition to candidates competing promotionally, interested incumbents at the Assistant Division Chief/Program Manager, DMV level and those eligible for lateral transfers are encouraged to apply.

Job Requirements:

• have a permanent civil service appointment with the Department of Motor Vehicles or meet the provisions of State Personnel Board Rule 234 or 235 by the final filing date; or
• be a current or former employee of the Legislature with two or more consecutive years as defined in Government Code Section 18990; or
• be a current or former non-elected exempt employee of the Executive Branch of government with two or more consecutive years (excluding those positions for which salaries are set by statute) as defined in Government Code Section 18992; or
• be a person retired from the United States military, honorably discharged from active military duty with a service-connected disability, or honorably discharged from active duty as defined in Government Code Section 18991.
