Job Description:

This position is a Senior Executive Service (SES) career-reserved position. Positions in the SES are not graded. SES pay is commensurate with qualifications. SES employees are eligible for bonuses and awards based on performance. Veteran’s preference is not applicable to SES.

Job Responsibilities:

• Research and develop data analytic algorithms and software that create new products and optimize Census Bureau processes for demographic and economic measurement.
• Research, evaluate, develop, and implement new and emerging statistical and data science methodologies, tools, and systems to develop new products and to optimize Census Bureau processes.
• Champions innovation in the area of adaptive design of procedures for the capture, management and analysis of data and paradata from multiple sources, including sample surveys and censuses, as well as administrative records and other non-survey sources, thus conducting data collection in a way to optimize the balance of multiple dimensions of quality, risk and cost.
• Furnish and support high performance computing for research purposes across the Census Bureau and include the Federal Statistical Research Data Center users.

Job Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Background investigation and/or security clearance is required.
• One-year probationary period may be required.
• Public Financial Disclosure (SF-278 filing within 30 days is required).
