Job Description:

This position is located in the Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, Washington, District of Columbia. The primary purpose of this position is to assume increasing responsibilities as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participating with senior specialists in making recommendations on trade issues, policy positions, or negotiating strategies, and developing and disseminating trade information to U.S. businesses or associations.
  • Developing knowledge skills and abilities over time, and with the guidance of more senior Trade Specialists, to perform a range of organization-specific responsibilities, including U.S. export facilitation, foreign direct investment promotion, trade promotion.
  • Operating as a team member committed to continuous improvement in the domestic field, international, and headquarters network assigned to perform the following cross-cutting duties, applicable to most ITA organizational environments.
  • Operating in a dynamic domestic and international business environment requiring dedicated effort to sustain expertise, to collaborate, and to maximize the benefits to all U.S. business interests.

Job Requirements:

  • A probationary period may be required.
  • You must successfully pass a background investigation. This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs.
  • Bargaining Unit Position: No
