Job Description:

Under the general direction of the Chief Deputy of Programs (CEA B) in the California Geologic Energy Management (Cal GEM) Division’s California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Unit, the incumbent will function as the CEQA Environmental Program Manager I (Supervisory) in the Division’s Headquarters Office.

Job Responsibilities:

  •  The incumbent will direct and have charge of the work plans, goals, performance metrics, resources, and objectives for the Division’s CEQA Unit.
  • This position provides technical guidance together with legal recommendations obtained from counsel on the CEQA and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) statutes as they apply to oil, gas, and geothermal projects in Cal GEM.
  • The incumbent represents the Department in environmental planning matters of statewide significance and is responsible for supervising the planning and executing of major environmental planning, analysis, and research programs in connection with environmental impact studies.
