Job Description:
Serves as the Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager. The incumbent is responsible for policy development, management, planning, coordination and execution of the Coast Guard’s service-wide diversity and inclusion programs. Responsible for and advises senior Coast Guard (CG) leadership on a wide range of sensitive and vital issues relating to diversity and inclusion for the active duty, reserve, civilian, and auxiliary workforces.
Job Responsibilities:
- Directing and supervising the office and staff responsible for diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives; developing, coordinating, implementing, executing, and monitoring Coast Guard-wide policies and procedures to achieve continuity of effort and consistency with the strategic goals of the Office of Personnel Management, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Coast Guard’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan.
- Overseeing analysis of talent management systems to identify and make recommendations for removing of institutional barriers to the success of all members of the workforce.
- Assuring equality in determining qualifications, selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, discipline and awards to Coast Guard personnel.
- Tracking available resources and also developing, evaluating and adjusting organizational structures and administrative and management systems.
- Ensuring equity, diversity and inclusion are integrated into service-wide strategies, structures, workforce development plans, and marketing to achieve highest degrees of mission readiness.
- Providing overall supervision of a diverse program staff, consisting of active duty officer and enlisted service members and civilian personnel.
Job Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Probationary period may be required.
