Job Description: This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Security, Facilities and Logistics Operations, Security Management Group, Division of Physical Security Operations. As a Physical Security Specialist, GS-0080-13, you will support the coordination of a wide range of work methods or improvement of complex processes related to the maintenance of security equipment and daily security operations of CMS offices. Job Responsibilities: Develop and maintain CMS security policy by interpreting or revising existing policy and regulatory guidance for use by others within or outside the employing organization. Develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of systems and makes recommendations which improve existing operations. Serve as the technical expert for protective security officer operations, responsible for representing CMS's interest in physical security and guard services operations. Perform internal and external physical security assessments and studies to assure GSA compliance with ICS standards and CMS security policy. Develop and prepare a variety of reports and recommendations for management that are required by CMS, GSA, and HHS to be used in determining the outcome of security programs.
