Job Description: Under immediate supervision, the PT Maintenance Worker performs manual labor involved with sorting and/or baling recyclable material. Employee will perform maintenance and minor repairs on conveyor and equipment. Employee may be assigned a variety of tasks; all areas are easy to learn. Employee has no responsibilities for reports or records. Employee must abide by all safety rules and regulations. Job Responsibilities: Sorts and/or bales recyclable material. Assists in cleaning equipment, conveyor, hand tools, and trucks. May perform minor repairs to the equipment and conveyor. Performs manual work. Assists other personnel in the department whenever necessary. Performs other duties as assigned. Assists on other work assignments in the department when requested. Job Requirements: Job does not require previous work experience. Must have basic knowledge of equipment and conveyors to perform repairs. Employee will be trained on the job to handle the necessary equipment. Must be able to meet the public in a courteous manner, using tact and diplomacy. Must have basic knowledge of hand tools to perform normal work as assigned. Must have a valid Texas Class C Driver’s License. Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language.
