Job Description:

The Department of Human Resources is seeking qualified applicants for a non-career, part-time, Clerk Typist I to III-Confidential. This position provides clerical support to the City Safety Officer in the Risk Management Bureau.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides back-up for Risk Management Secretary.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Responds to requests for information and directs inquiries appropriately.
  • Compiles information and data for reports and memos.
  • Answers phones and takes accurate messages.
  • Types, edits, and formats correspondence, letters, and statistical data.
  • Opens, sorts, and distributes mail.
  • Composes routine memos and correspondence.
  • Schedules appointments.
  • Maintains records and files.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to handle confidential issues in a professional manner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and to be an effective team member.
  • Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
