Job Description:
The Dallas City Attorney’s Office is seeking an energetic and highly organized individual to serve as a Community Service Restitution Coordinator in the Community Courts Section. Community courts are neighborhood-focused courts that address individual problems and build stronger communities.
The Community Service Restitution Coordinator is responsible for tracking, developing, and promoting community service restitution projects for the Community Courts Section. Additional duties include: building and maintaining relationships with residents, business owners, and other stakeholders in the community to identify community service projects; assessing an individual’s physical and mental capabilities to perform community service; overseeing the use of resources, including transportation and equipment; attending monthly meetings with community courts partners, and other duties as assigned. This position requires working outdoors routinely and requires working some evenings and weekends.
The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating multiple projects and building relationships with residents and business owners. A bachelor’s degree and knowledge in criminal justice is preferred.
Salary is commensurate with experience. The City’s comprehensive benefits package comes with the position. This position is exempt from the provisions applicable to civil service, pursuant to Chapter XVI, Section 9 of the Dallas City Charter.
