Job Responsibilities: Participates in Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery processes in the public health department. Identifies patients needs and provides mitigation processes for health problems affecting their community Perform nursing procedures as appropriate for public health services. Inspect workplaces for safety risks. Works with team members to create plans for increasing worker safety and improving health Works with team members to create emergency plans that minimize dangers in the wake of natural disasters Responds to emergency relief situations Helps the community health care team by coordinating assessment, planning, and providing of needed health and related services; participating in case investigations or conferences with physicians, hospital and rehabilitative personnel, and representative of other agencies. Provides health information by instructing family in care of patient; maintaining health and prevention of disease for family members; teaching home nursing, maternal and child care; providing instructions in other subjects related to individual and community welfare. Job Requirements: Active Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse. Person should have skills in operation of computer and various software programs. Should be proactive, willing to extensive travel and field visits; hands on job person. Valid Texas Drivers License Qualification & Experience: Over one year and up to and including two years.
