Job Description:
This position is located in the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR), location Cleveland, OH. The incumbent performs a range of administrative, clerical, and technical program support functions which facilitate the overall accomplishment of OCR’s mission and goals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyzes data to determine and evaluate results, trends and developments.
- Assists supervisor with basic complaint intake functions, assign each incoming complaint a docket number and prepare the case file for each complaint.
- Prepare travel orders and vouchers in accordance with federal travel regulations.
- Provide advice on matters pertaining to time and attendance, leave, travel, reports and correspondence procedures.
- Utilize systems to enter information about the complaint in the Case Management System (CMS); upload each complaint to the Document Management System (DMS); and send acknowledgment and other information on complaint filing.
- Under direct supervision, composes narrative budget justifications for various OCR components. Compose and maintain status reports.
- Establish and maintain files, prepare correspondence and maintains office supplies.
- Compiles information and provides a status of various program activities, such as, status of funds, workload and completion of work.
- Prepare and review outgoing correspondence and reports for proper format, accuracy and coordination of facts in accordance with established policy.
- Coordinate meetings and conferences.
Job Requirements:

- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must complete a Background Investigation and fingerprint check.
- Males 18 years and over must be registered with the Selective Service
- Relocation expenses will not be paid
