Job Description:
Under the direction of a Staff Services Manager I, Administrative Support Team, Office of Legal Affairs (OLA), California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) independently performs the more complex technical work requiring a high level of expertise for all aspects of Workers’ Compensation (WC) claims, including inmate claims. The incumbent may assume a lead role to other analysts on specific assignments or initiating a project and conceptualizing the types of data needed to guide decision makers to an informed solution. The incumbent will administer all Deuel Vocational Institution (DVI) Workers’ Compensation claims, including all the legacy and maintenance claims resulting from the closure of DVI on June 30, 2021.
Job Responsibilities:
Successful accomplishment of program goals requires the incumbent to maintain regular attendance, communicate professionally, both orally and in writing, produce accurate work product, exercise good judgment and collaborate successfully with other members of the assigned team. This position requires continuing and independent personal interaction with various stakeholders, in person, by phone and email and requires the analyst to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personally identifiable information, including personal information contained in medical reports.
Job Requirements:
- Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
- Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment. If it is determined and applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired to the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.
