Job Description: This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, at the George Bush Library. As a Museum Specialist, you will perform a variety of duties, including oversight for all objects and official records, in connection with the management of the library's museum collections. The incumbent also carries out individual research and/or exhibit projects and performs a variety of public service duties. Job Responsibilities: Oversee the accessioning and cataloging of the collections and maintains manual and automated collections inventories and file systems. Manage the proper conservation, preservation, and restoration of collections where assigned. Develop and implement improvements in utilizing space, identifies needs, and seeks solutions for additional space and equipment. Supervise the movement of objects, especially those used in an active public performance environment. Consider loan requests from outside sources and makes recommendations to colleagues regarding issues of the request and the safety of the objects. Job Requirements: Qualification & Experience: A one year probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation.
