Job Description: The Project Manager - Scheduler is responsible for using and improving existing enterprise tools, systems and work processes to assist Project Management Practitioners in effective management control and reporting on cost, schedule and progress measurement for projects. Individuals in this role will collaborate with Project Managers to develop and manage project schedules, cost performance reports, “What-if scenarios” that align with Amtrak Major Program Delivery standards. Project Controls Specialists work under close supervision of a senior level Controls Practitioner or PMO Director. Job Responsibilities: Maintain cost loaded schedules at the appropriate WBS level. Assist Project or Program Managers in evaluation and assessment of identified project schedule risks to enable project teams to formulate mitigation plans. Partners closely with business partners to assess new and ongoing projects to determine readiness for governance stage gates. Integrate of cost and schedule data to facilitate schedule and budget performance reporting. Collect project performance data such as installed quantities, expended labor and other progress measurement data. Work with Project Managers and team to develop project schedules, maintain strict schedule baseline version controls utilizing schedule logs. Help develop and utilize templates or processes to improve scheduling workflows. Monitors actuals and works with the project managers to review forecasting against budgets. Track potential changes, ensuring estimates of cost and schedule changes are given visibility with the client and project management. Assist Project Manager with maintenance and baseline reviews of project schedules in accordance with approved project parameters. Job Requirements: Associate degree with minimum of 3 years of project scheduling or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have work authorization in the United States. Knowledge of contracts and contract administration including its assessment and implementation at each phase of the project. Transportation, Rail Industry Infrastructure and/or Construction background. Ability to organize and analyze large volumes of financial, risk and schedule performance data. Microsoft Office, Teams, MS SharePoint, PowerPoint. Strong oral and written communication skills across all levels. Working knowledge project controls, schedule skills (schedule development, management, reporting) & financial skills (budget management, financial reporting). Associate degree with minimum of 3 years of project scheduling or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
