This position reports to the Manager, Leadership Development, and is responsible for designing, managing and delivering core leadership development programs for Americans’ 5,000+ people leaders. This role collaborates closely with American’s Talent Management, People Business Partners and People Analytics teams, in addition to senior leaders and external partners.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide program management for core enterprise leadership programs; to include design; facilitation and logistics; managing stakeholder and participant engagement; and evaluation of program effectiveness and impact. Manages vendor relationships and acts to assure quality service is being provided
  • Participate in, and/or lead the design, construction, implementation, delivery, and analysis of learning solutions that support leadership development across leadership levels and workgroups
  • Ensures cross-functional collaboration in all development programs by staying abreast of leadership development initiatives across the enterprise
  • Responsible for continuously improving current offerings by monitoring programs and advising of needed curriculum updates or suggested improvements
  • Responsible for working with others to develop and implement strategies, programs, and technologies that best educate and help prepare leaders and team members to achieve business results
  • Stays abreast of current trends in Leadership Development with respect to development concepts, modalities, and program initiatives
  • Facilitate instructor-led training/meeting sessions as needed
  • Consult with business units/leaders to assess needs and recommend development solutions

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Exceptional project management skills: ability to take the initiative anticipating and handling problems or incidents before they become major issues
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills; ability to see the big picture and implore strong judgment, decisiveness, and diplomacy skill
  • Strong ability to build, develop, and maintain key relationships/partnerships and comfortable working in a team-based environment Good analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed
  • Certifications in Emergenetics, consulting, facilitation, and or advanced HR and training focuses
  • Energetic, forward-thinking and implementation focused with an ability to effectively operate in an environment of constant change and flex to adapt
  • Experienced facilitator comfortable delivering to all levels of leadership from frontline leaders to executive leaders.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to maintain highly confidential information

Qualification & Experience:

  • Education or certification in executive or performance coaching
  • Prior experience managing multiple large-scale programs simultaneously
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in leadership development or talent management
  • Prior experience engaging and presenting with executive level professionals
  • Master, PHD or degree in organizational behavior, leadership development, education or related field
  • Prior experience facilitating and presenting to senior leadership at all organizational level
  • Prior experience with diverse, targeted leadership development initiatives to build a strong leadership pipeline
  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, organizational behavior, education, or related field
  • Prior experience with learning development, curriculum design, training methodologies, and online education
